Our Hearts Go Out to the Family of Scott Innes

Monday, September 10, 2007 was a tragic day for the friends and family of a Litchfield local. Scott Innes, 51, suffered from a severe heart attack while coaching on the sidelines for his 12 and older soccer team. Though many had tried to help him and an ambulance had been immediately called, it was unfortunate that he could not have been revived. Innes died shortly after at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Coaching had been a great part of Innes’ life and many of the children of Litchfield had, had the pleasure of learning from him. I, myself, can be found upon the many that have been privileged to have been a part of one of his teams. I cannot express how much gratitude I have towards him and how he had been a memorable part of my life. Providing me not only with a skillful knowledge of soccer, but of precise memories of all the fun times I have had at the field. I think I can speak for all of his players when I say he will be missed dearly.

Apart from his coaching life, Scott Innes was also a partner at the Ruddock and Innes law firm and a colleague of one of the Dunk N’ Dogs’ owners, Sharon Richardson. “I worked with him at the court. He was my colleague. I will forever miss him,” Sharon admits. “…he was a phenomenal human being who was a voice for so many children and families in the NH juvenile justice system. I've been devastated all week about this loss.”

Scott Innes touched the hearts of so many in our community and will be missed by many. We here at Dunk N’ Dogs want to express our condolences to his family and loved ones. He was a great man and will stay in the hearts and memories of us all that have had the pleasure of knowing him.
